Two grade 7 and two grade 8 teachers at Lincoln Heights are about to start a learning cycle focusing on the Inquiry Process and they invited me out today to help them plan and look at ways that I could support their students as they went through the process. They are still in the early stages of planning but they are thinking that they would try and link the Inquiry Cycle with the new Mental Health Initiatives that the board was rolling out. The students could research various disorders/disabilities and present their findings at a Mental Health Expo.
When I left, we had arranged for me to come out and do session on the Virtual Library first with the students so they could familiarize themselves with the resources available. Further sessions would focus on developing questions to guide their research and finding the right source to answer their questions.
